Volume Replacement Oncoplasty

Home Services Partial Breast Reconstruction Volume Replacement Oncoplasty

When the breast cancer lump is removed and the defect is very large or when the breast is relatively small it may not be possible to reconstruct the breast using the displacement techniques described earlier.

In such situations the experts at Hyderabad Breast Clinics use another method where they would source the tissue from adjacent chest wall using a method called Chest Wall perforator flaps.

Chest Wall perforator Flaps: Small islands of tissue from the adjacent chest wall are designed in such a way that they can be moved into the defect created in the breast due to cancer removal. The surgeons design this in such a way that the scar is hidden in the natural creases under the breast or place them in the arm pit.

Our surgeons can effortlessly design various flaps based on the location of the tumor in the breast tissue.

Distant Pedicled Flaps

Chest wall perforator flaps can be used in select areas and when the defects are huge then the surgeon uses distant pedicled flaps like Lattismus dorsi flap from the back and TRAM flap from the lower abdominal wall.
